Post-Season Honors Continue For Hope's Fall Athletes

 Several Hope College athletes who played on fall
sports teams have been honored for their achievements.
Senior Tina Gill of Kalamazoo (Kalamazoo Central HS) has
been named to the Great Lakes All-Region women's soccer team by
the College Soccer Coaches Association. She is the first Hope
female soccer player to achieve this distinction three
consecutive years.
Eight members of the cross country teams were named to the
first Great Lakes Regional team by the Cross Country Coaches
Association. They are senior Cyndi Bannink of Holland (Holland
Christian HS), junior Paul Berke of Park Ridge, Ill. (Maine
Township HS), sophomore Andrea Egeler of Fruitport (Fruitport
HS), sophomore Jennifer Ernst of Westerville, Ohio (Westerville
HS), sophomore Nicole Reynolds of Mattawan (Mattawan HS), senior
Ellen Schultz of Glen Lake (Maple City-Glen Lake HS), senior
Becky Timmer of Pella, Iowa (Pella HS), and freshman Dylan Wade
of Beulah, Mich. (Benzie Central HS).
Seniors Becky Schmidt of Holland (Holland HS) and Heather
Velting of Byron Center (Grand Rapids South Christian HS) were
voted to the Great Lakes All-Region volleyball team. Schmidt was
subsequently voted an NCAA Division III All-American. Both
Schmidt and Velting are two-time All-Region honorees.
Seniors David DeHommel of Jenison (Jenison HS) and Adam
Paarlberg Alto (Caledonia HS) were named to the GTE Academic All-
District football team. DeHommel was subsequently voted a GTE
football Academic All-American.
