Women's Chamber Choir to Close Season on April 18

The Women's Chamber Choir will present its spring concert on Monday, April 18, at 7:30 p.m. at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church on 13th Street at Maple Avenue.

The public is invited. Admission is free.

The men of Twelfth Street Harmony and the women's group Luminescence will join the Women's Chamber Choir at the concert.

The Women's Chamber Choir will perform sacred and secular music including a madrigal, a Baroque anthem for Ascension Day, three water folksongs, and the group's traditional closing number, "Blessing."

The center point of the program is a set of three "peace" pieces; including a Mass movement in Shona, an African language spoken in Zimbabwe, and a setting of a text from Mother Teresa. The program will feature several student soloists and the choir will be joined by percussion, flute, organ, and bassoon.
