Hope College Fall Student Dance Concerts

Hope College will present its annual Fall Student Dance Concerts on Tuesday and Wednesday, Nov. 18-19, at the Dow Center dance studio and on Monday and Tuesday, Nov. 24-25, at the Knickerbocker Theatre at 8 p.m.

The public is invited.  Admission is free.

The concerts feature works choreographed and performed by Hope College students. Although many of them are dance majors and minors, not all students involved in the concert are conducting studies in the department of dance.

The concerts will include work by the Advanced Composition and Composition II classes.  Composition II is taught by Steven Iannacone and involves students in every aspect of production, including adjudication of dance pieces, costuming, props, collaborative choreography and performance.

Starting this year, all student works will be presented at the Dow concerts, with selected works proceeding to the Knickerbocker by consent of three guest adjudicators.  This year's adjudicators are Roberto Rodriguez, company manager of Ballet De San Juan; Jackie Bartley, adjunct assistant professor of English at Hope; and Katherine Sullivan, assistant professor of art at Hope.

The Dow Center dance studio is on the second floor of the Dow Center, located on the corner of 13th Street and Columbia Avenue.  The Knickerbocker Theatre is located in downtown Holland at 86 E. Eighth St.
