Hope “Woodwind Day” to Feature Two Concerts

 Hope College will feature two concerts in Wichers Auditorium of Nykerk Hall of Music as part of its "Woodwind Day" on Saturday, Nov. 8.

The public is invited to both events.  Admission is free.

At 9:30 a.m., four Hope College faculty members will be performing short, solo works for their instruments. The faculty are Julie Sooy, flute; Tom Lockwood, saxophone

Joel Schekman, clarinet; and Sarah Southard, oboe.  They will be accompanied by pianist Jennifer Wolfe.

At 4 p.m., a mixed group of college students, community members, and high school students will perform.  The 4 p.m. concert will also feature a Saxophone Quartet and Flute Quartet.

Nykerk Hall of Music is located in the central Hope campus at the former 127 E. 12th Street between College and Columbia avenues.
