A major theme in mathematics is viewing the same mathematical object in different ways.  In this talk, we'll introduce flags--no, not the patriotic kind, even though it will be election day!  Flags of subspaces are geometric objects that arise in the study of linear spaces.  We'll talk about the "right" way to think about their geometry using linear algebra.  Along the way, we'll discuss the difference between the geometric and algebraic perspectives of flags.
