Phage Genomics ResearchHoward Hughes Medical Institute Science Education AllianceHave you ever wanted to see what science is really all about? Have you ever wanted to be a part of something that is larger than yourself... significant at a national level? Do you want to do that right as you start your college career? Hope College is participating in an exciting exploration of viruses that infect bacteria as part of a national effort to give first year college students a true understanding of what it means to do science. The course is called "Phage Genomics Research" and is part of the National Genomics Research Initiative led by the Howard Hughes Medical Institute. Hope has been selected as one of only 12 colleges and universities in the nation to participate in this program, providing you an opportunity that is unique and contributes to significant scientific inquiry into the biology of viruses. If you are interested in joining us on this unprecedented journey, contact Dr. Aaron Best (best@hope.edu) for more information. First Year Honor's Course in Viral Genomics
