Family Stuff

Carla has been married to Eric Vissers since 1984.  Their son, Ethan, began his first year as a student at Hope College in the fall of 2003.  Leah, their daughter, is a high school student at Black River Public School in Holland.  The family has two Boston Terriers, Duke and Zoe.  Leah has a hedgehog named Fiona, and in the summer of 2003, to soften the blow of her first child leaving home for college, Carla acquired a guinea pig, which she named after the late, great folksinger Woody Guthrie.  Woody lives in a cage by her desk and sits on her shoulder in the morning when she writes.
