Brief Biography
Renata Fernández Domínguez is a Professor
of Hispanic American Literature and Latin American Colonial Literature
and Culture at Hope College, Holland, Michigan. She holds a B.A. in English
from the Universidad Veracruzana (Xalapa, Veracruz, México) a Master´s
in Spanish from the University of Kansas (1997) and a Ph.D. in Latin American
literature from the University of Kentucky (2005). From September 2005
to June 2008 she was the on-site Director of the Kentucky Institute for
International Studies in Morelia, México where she oversaw and
directed specialized programs for Law Enforcement officials, Seminarians,
and Healthcare Professionals. Recently she presented a paper at Carlton
University (Ottawa, Canada) on indigenous rebellions in Colonial Latin
America.
