Lora Clark Kolean completed her Master’s Degree at Western Michigan University where she studied with Lori Sims. While at Western, she was a Graduate Assistant in class piano, and Lori Sims’ Teaching Assistant. Previously Lora studied with Joan Conway at Hope College and with Fabio Bidini at Accademia Musicale Umbra in Perugia, Italy.
Lora teaches Applied Piano and Class Piano at Hope College, serves as Staff Accompanist at both Hope College and Grand Valley State University, and maintains a private studio in her home. She has been a finalist in Kalamazoo’s Bach Competition and won twice the Hope College Concerto Competition, along with receiving the Kate Garrod Post Education Fund Scholarship through the Women’s Literary Club of Holland and achieving Summa cum Laude at Hope College.
Lora has worked with various well-known artists in master classes and summer festivals, and has recently been soloist with the Hope College Symphonette and on the Herrick District Library Concert Series, as well as performing in the Chamber Music Festival of Saugatuck.
