Dame. I finished in 1993 and moved to Dayton to work on HTS at Wright-Patterson
AFB. In 1997, I got a new job at Intermagnetics General Corp in New
York state, where we plotted to make HTS products. In 2001, I moved
on to a new job (this time as a Systems Engineer) at Northrop Grumman
Defense Systems Division, just northwest of Chicago. Our company

structures/devices that are "blown up" or "shot at", either deliberately
or accidentally. We do a lot of work for the DoD and the petrochemical
industry. Recent projects include the design and testing of an
anti-mine armor system for the HMMWV (in February, the first "field
test" occurred--three soldiers in Bosnia survived an anti-tank
mine detonation), numerically simulating the detonation of a
chemical weapon, testing and analysis of buried pipelines subjected
to abnormal surface loads, and blast- and fragment-testing of
industrial components used by bad guys to manufacture bad things.
