Jennifer Hampton moved to Hope in the fall of 2007 after two years teaching physics at Washington & Jefferson College. She received her Ph.D. in physics (minor in chemistry) in 2002 from Cornell University and did postdoctoral research at The Pennsylvania State University.  Her bachelor's degree is in physics from Oberlin College, and she received an M.Phil. in physics from the The University of Cambridge after spending a year at Churchill College, Cambridge as a Winston Churchill Foundation Scholar.

Jennifer’s research interests are at the interface of physics, chemistry, and materials science and are focused on understanding and controlling the fabrication of metallic thin films and nanostructures.
