Engineering

In addition to the normal courses recommended for admission to Hope, a student interested in engineering should have completed the following high school courses: at least three years of mathematics through trigonometry or pre-calculus, one year of chemistry, and one year of physics.

Hope College offers two different majors in engineering: a Bachelor of Science in Engineering Physics and a Bachelor of Science in Engineering. The Bachelor of Science in Engineering Physics conforms to the minimum requirements for Bachelor of Science major at Hope College. It is an adequate preparation for graduate school in engineering or for an entry engineering position in industry. The Bachelor of Science in Engineering is a rigorous major conforming to the requirements of engineering accrediting agencies. The Bachelor of Science in Engineering is an excellent preparation for graduate school in engineering or for a wide variety of engineering positions in industry. Engineering graduates of Hope College typically have been able to earn a Master of Science degree in one to two years of graduate study.
