Step One

Apply for Admission to Hope College

To complete an application for admission the following items must be submitted:

  1. Complete Application for Admission
  2. A copy of your most recent transcript (transfer students must also submit high school transcript)
  3. ACT or SAT scores
  4. Non-refundable application fee of $35
Please give the completed application form and $35 fee to your high school counselor. Ask him/her to complete the counselor section of the application and forward all required items to the Hope College Office of Admissions. If test scores are not included on your high school transcript, have them forwarded by the appropriate testing agency.

Home Schooled Students
In addition to the regular application materials also include the following:

  1. A graded term paper from your final year of high school
  2. A reading list for your final year in high school
  3. A letter of recommendation from someone outside your family who is knowledgeable regarding your academic potential

Please Note: In order to meet federal aid eligibility, home schooled students must take the ACT test. The SAT is not acceptable.

When to Apply for Admission

It is recommended that you apply early in the fall of your senior year in high school. To be assured consideration for merit-based scholarships, the Admissions Office must receive a completed application by February 15.

Acceptance Notification

Each year, completed application files are read throughout the fall, admission decisions are made in late November, and notifications regarding admission decisions are mailed in mid December. Following the first notification date in December, applicants will be notified regarding their admission decision within three to five weeks after their files are complete in the Admissions Office.
