Step Two

File Two Financial Aid Forms

You MUST complete BOTH the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and the Hope College Supplemental Application for Financial Aid (SAF) to be considered for need-based aid resources.

The information you provide on these forms is to be based on your 2007 tax data.

1. Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
You can complete and submit the FAFSA online or obtain it from your high school guidance office. When filing the FAFSA electronically, both you and one of your parents should have federal Personal Identification Numbers (PINs). These PINs serve as electronic signatures on the FAFSA. You should release your information to Hope College using the College's Federal School Code: 002273.
Apply for PINs - www.pin.ed.gov
Fill out a FAFSA - www.fafsa.ed.gov

2. Hope College Supplemental Application for Financial Aid (SAF)
Hope College will mail this form to families of prospective students. You can access the SAF online where you can complete the form and print it. Note: You cannot submit your SAF online. Your completed SAF should then be mailed directly to the Hope College Office of Financial Aid. To assist you in completing this form, please also refer to our online application instructions and helpful hints.

When to File Forms

It is highly recommended that both the Hope SAF and the FAFSA be filed between January 1, 2008 and March 1, 2008. Do not file prior to January 1, 2008.
