Campaign Report

Legacies: A Vision of Hope was a tremendous success because of the generosity of alumni, parents, and friends who believe in the mission of Hope College and gave generously of their time and resources.

The $105 million campaign was comprised of four primary initiatives designed to impact every academic area of the college:

• Building the new Science Center and renovating the Peale Building with a $36 million goal
• Constructing the Richard and Helen DeVos Fieldhouse with a $22 million goal
• Campus Development, including the construction of the Martha Miller Center for Global Communication with a $19 million goal
• Increasing the Endowment with a $30 million goal

Gifts and pledges at the conclusion of the campaign in January 2005 totaled $137.5 million with 3,548 donors participating.

Thank you to each of the donors for making a lasting impact on the Hope College community. Gifts to Legacies greatly enhance Hope’s strong foundation of academic excellence in a caring, Christian environment. The generous outpouring of support has been record setting, and has brought about changes that will benefit the college and community beyond for generations to come.
