DeVos Fieldhouse Records

The Flying Dutchmen began playing their home games at the college’s new DeVos Fieldhouse in 2005-06. This page highlights player and team accomplishments.

DEVOS FIELDHOUSE HIGHLIGHTS

* The first Hope College men's basketball game was a 70-53 victory over Elmhurst, Ill. on Nov. 19, 2005. It was the second game of a doubleheader featuring both the women's and men's basketball teams. There were 3,201 fans at the inaugural game, most wearing orange. The first basket was scored 16 seconds into the game on a layup by Hope center Eric Voisin, assisted by Marcus Vanderheide. Andy Phillips led Hope with 22 points.

* The Flying Dutchmen posted a perfect 18-0 record in their inaugural season (05-06) and led all NCAA Division III teams in attendance, averaging 2,954 fans per game.

* All five starters scored in doubles figures as the Flying Dutchmen defeated Aquinas 82-75 on 12-10-05 -- Stephen Cramer 24, Jeff Carlson 15, Eric Voisin 14, Andy Phillips 13, and Greg Immink 10.

* The 2007-08 Flying Dutchmen posted a perfect (17-0) home floor record. A highlight was hosting three NCAA tournament games. In an 83-70 Sectional tournament championship game victory over Wheaton, all five Hope starters scored in double figures and each had at least two three-point baskets -- Jesse Reimink, 14 points (4 treys); Ryan Klein, 13 points (3); Tyler Wolfe, 12 points (2); Marcus Vanderheide, 23 points (2); and Derek Van Solkema, 15 points (3).
