Coach Tracy Benjamin

Coach Tracy Benjamin (benjamin@hope.edu) is taking Hope women's lacrosse to the next level. A 2009 Hope College graduate who majored in psychology and exercise science, she coached Hope's club team for two seasons before being named the first coach of the program as a collegiate sport.

Coach Benjamin, in her first season, guided the 2011 Flying Dutch to a school record 11 victories and first-ever appearance in the Women's Collegiate Lacrosse League (WCLL) playoffs. The 2012 Flying Dutch followed with a 12-win season and were 9-2 against conference opponents. The team again competed in the WCLL playoffs splitting a pair of decisions. Benjamin also coached her first All-American (sophomore Katie Sabourin of Flushing, Mich.).

As an undergraduate, Benjamin was an active member of the women's lacrosse club team, serving as captain in 2007 and as club president in 2008 and 2009. She participated in many co-curricular events, including the traditional Pull tug-of-war, She was a tour guide for the Office of Admissions and was a teacher's assistant in a fitness class at the college. She most recently has served as a counselor in a program that helps troubled teens learn independent living skills.

Her sister Jamie, a 2011 Hope graduate, serves as an assistant coach.
