Campus Publications
There are three different types of campus publications
supported by the bookstore to meet varying academic needs: Departmental
publications, coursepacks and coupons. Hopefully the following information
can help you decide which option will best meet the needs of your class.
- Departmental
Publication: A departmental
publication is generated by the department - for example a workbook
created by the professor, or the Health Dynamics text authored
collectively by the Kinesiology faculty. Departmental publications
have no material that needs copyright permission filed and all
of the production is overseen and paid for by the department.
-
- Coursepacks: If the material you wish to use includes
a substantial amount of copyrighted material such as book selections,
website material or journal essays and articles, then you need to
create a coursepack. The bookstore offers the service of filing for
permission and also handles most of the production details.
-
- Coupons: Coupons are the most flexible option we offer.
Faculty use coupons, bought by the students at the same time as their
textbooks, to cover lab fees, supplies to be handed out in class,
audio-visual resource costs and copying costs for incidental handouts.
If you are uncertain of which option works
best for your class, or have any additional questions, please don't
hesitate to contact Mary Deenik, our Textbook Manager, at deenik@hope.edu or
extension x2576.
