mmworkshop What, When, and Where?
Each summer during the last week of June, high school teachers have the opportunity to come to the Hope College campus in Holland, Michigan and learn how to use WebMO.  Throughout the week, teachers earn credit, collaborate and network with fellow high school teachers, and develop inquiry-based lessons using sophisticated technology.  Benefits of the workshop do not end on the last day. Workshop leaders do continue to be in contact over the coming academic year and beyond to ensure that you are comfortable with your lesson and the tools you employ. You will be able to utilize Hope College’s computational resources from your own web browser anytime you like for as long as you keep teaching.
How?
WebMO is a user-friendly web-based software interface that provides access to highly complex computational science and modeling engines.  Hope College will provide all of the necessary computer hardware and software to implement your lesson; all you need at your school are computers with ordinary web browsers. You can try WebMO for yourself by going to www.webmo.net/demo
mmworkshop Workshop Leaders
The proven workshop will be led by Dr. Brent Krueger, a chemistry professor at Hope College who uses computational science and modeling as well as laser spectroscopy in his research.  Dr. Krueger will be assisted by Ms. Carrie Dummer, a former high school chemistry teacher who works with pre-service teachers in the Hope education department, and Dr. Vicki-Lynn Holmes, a professor in the education and mathematics departments at Hope College.

Feel free to contact Brent Krueger for more information at kruegerb@hope.edu or (616) 395-7629.  Applications are being accepted now, so apply today!
