History of Hope Men's Lacrosse Team

Hope College has sponsored lacrosse as a club sport since 1974. It is one of the oldest established collegiate lacrosse club programs in the State of Michigan.

Lacrosse will become an intercollegiate sport at Hope and the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) during the 2012-13 school year.

Hope College Lacrosse Affiliations
MCLA website
The Hope College lacrosse team was a member of the Men's Collegiate Lacrosse Association (MCLA) and played in the Division II Central Collegiate Lacrosse Association conference. The MCLA represents the interests of the non-varsity collegiate programs that now play under the umbrella of the Men's Collegiate Lacrosse Association. Comprised of 213 college teams in conferences from coast to coast, the MCLA provides a "virtual varsity" structure for college non-varsity lacrosse - with conference championships, post-season awards, national polls, and NCAA regulations governing eligibility and rules of play. The season culminated with a national championship tournament, held annually during the second week in May.
