Artist Piano Series to Present Acclaimed
German Pianist David Gross on February 2

HOLLAND -- The Hope College Artist Piano Series will present internationally acclaimed German pianist David Gross on Friday, Feb. 2, at 8 p.m. in Dimnent Memorial Chapel.

The public is invited. Admission is free.

Gross was born in Berlin, and has recorded numerous broadcasts for German public radio as well as his 1995 recording of the Edouard Lalo Piano Concerto with the Staatsorchester Frankfurt, which met with much critical acclaim.

Gross also won prizes at the international piano competitions in Marsala, Italy, and Bremen, Germany. In 1998, he won the nationally competitive Kate Neal Kinley Memorial Fellowship. In 1999, he appeared on the Dame Myra Hess Memorial Concert Series in Chicago, Ill.

Currently the Resident Artist at Western Michigan University, Gross holds a bachelor's degree from the Munich Conservatory, a master's degree from the Yale School of Music, an artist's diploma from the Hannover Conservatory and a Ph.D. from the University of Illinois. His teachers include Ludwig Hoffmann, Arie Vardi, Daniel Pollack, Claude Frank and John Wustman.
