Hope to Feature Christmas Films
And Sing-Along on Friday, Nov. 30

Posted November 19, 2001

HOLLAND -- The second annual "Christmas Movie and Sing-Along" will be held at Hope College on Friday, Nov. 30, at 7 p.m. at the Knickerbocker Theatre.

The evening will include a double-feature of the classic films "It's a Wonderful Life" and "A Christmas Story"; an opportunity to sing Christmas songs; and a visit from Santa Claus.

The event is intended for the general community as well as the campus community. Admission is $3, payable at the door.

"It's a Wonderful Life" (1946) centers on James Stewart as George Bailey, who through an angel's intervention realizes that he has made a positive difference on his community and those around him. "A Christmas Story" is a 1983 comedy that features Peter Billingsley as a 1940s boy who wants a Red Ryder BB gun for Christmas.

The event is sponsored by the college's Social Activities Committee. The Knickerbocker Theatre is located in downtown Holland at 86 E. 8th St., between College and Columbia avenues.
