Hope Faculty to Perform Final Fall Recital

HOLLAND -- Members of the Hope College music
faculty will perform the final recital of the fall season on
Sunday, Nov. 18, at 4 p.m. in Wichers Auditorium of the
Nykerk Hall of Music.
The public is invited. Admission is free.
Throughout the fall, the Hope College music
faculty has offered a free recital series on Sunday
afternoons. Joining the Hope faculty for the fourth and
final recital is guest violinist Timothy Shiu. Shiu, along
with faculty pianist Mansoon Han, will perform works by
Beethoven, Brahms, Gershwin-Heifetz and Bloch.
The first piece of the recital is Beethoven's
"Sonata in G Major, Op. 30 No. 3" for violin. Following the
Beethoven piece, Shiu and Han will perform Ernest Bloch's
"Baal Shem." The third piece in the program is Brahms'
"Sonata in G Major, Op. 78." The concert will conclude with
"Three Preludes" by George Gershwin-Heifetz.
Nykerk Hall of Music is located between College
and Columbia avenues on the former 12th Street.
