HOLLAND -- Kevin Kraay and Doug Van Dyken have both been promoted within the Business Office at Hope College.

Kraay has been promoted to business manager from associate business manager. Van Dyken has been promoted to controller from assistant controller.

"Both Kevin and Doug have served the college with distinction over the past 16 and 14 years respectively," said Barry Werkman, who was promoted to vice president for finance during the summer after previously serving as business manager and controller. "They are both very financially astute individuals who possess excellent knowledge of the financial requirements of the college as well as have valuable experience in its business operations."

Kraay joined the Hope staff in 1985 as director of accounting. He was named assistant business manager in 1987, and associate business manager in 1995. His responsibilities have included payroll, accounts receivable, purchasing, insurance and grant accounting.

In his new position, he continues with his prior responsibilities in addition to managing accounting for the Hope-Geneva Bookstore, the college's food service, indirect cost calculation and cash management.

Kraay graduated from Hope in 1981 with a major in business administration. Prior to joining the Hope staff he held an accounting position with the Reformed Church in America.

He and his wife Patty live in Zeeland and have two children.

Van Dyken joined the staff as director of accounting in 1987, the year he graduated from Hope with a major in accounting. He was named assistant controller in 1995.
