Hope Student Receives Scholarship from
Atlanta Falcons Youth Foundation

Posted November 20, 2001

HOLLAND -- Anne Bradley, a Hope College senior from Shaker Heights, Ohio, has received a new graduate scholarship from the Atlanta Falcons Youth Foundation.

Bradley has received one of the first "Jerry Rhea Graduate Athletic Training Scholarships." The $5,000 awards are given to help defray the cost of higher education for students who are studying sports medicine, and only four were presented: two for graduate work, and two for undergraduate studies. The award is named in honor of Jerry Rhea, who was head athletic trainer of the Atlanta Falcons Football Club for 25 years.

An athletic training major at Hope, Bradley is still finalizing her graduate school plans but intends to pursue a master's in athletic training and is seeking an assistantship that will allow her to work with an athletic team or in a sports medicine clinic.

"After graduate school I would like to be an athletic trainer for a university and work with a wide range of athletes," she said. "I really like the college setting because of how rewarding it is to aid injured athletes by motivating them and helping them progress back to full functional status."

Bradley is the daughter of Tom and Betsy Bradley of Shaker Heights. She is a 1998 graduate of Shaker Heights High School.
