Jumpstart Your Future:
Career Conversations with Hope Alumni
Posted October 3, 2002
HOLLAND -- In today's fast-paced world, it is
never too early for students to begin to think about the
academic and personal steps that will lead to a successful
professional career. While students are aware that earning
"good grades," "working hard" and doing "good work" are
important goals and values, they may find that translating
these ideals into concrete steps can be a daunting
challenge.
On Friday, Oct. 11, from 1:15 p.m. to 5 p.m.,
"Jumpstart Your Future: Career Conversations with Hope
Alumni" will offer students an opportunity to meet with
recent alumni who are pursuing exciting and interesting
careers in the fields of business, law, media/communication,
and government/public service. The alumni will discuss what
paths they have pursued since graduation, and what, if any,
academic and personal choices the alumni would have made if
they could do their careers at Hope College over again.
Jumpstart Your Future is not, however, a spectator event.
The afternoon has been designed to include large-group
discussions, small-group focus sessions and time for one-on-
one contact in order to give all students an opportunity to
interact with and ask questions of the invited alumni.
"Jumpstart Your Future" is a groundbreaking event
that will permit students to hear first-hand what they can
begin to do now to shape their future. The alumni who are
returning to campus for this event are a vibrant group of
individuals who were active in numerous campus organizations
as students, and are looking forward to sharing their
experiences with current Hope students.
Don't miss out on this unique opportunity to
Jumpstart YOUR Future on October 11!
