Sports Medicine Lecture Series to Focus on Ankle Pain

HOLLAND -- The Distinguished Lecture Series in
Sports Medicine at Hope College will examine ankle pain on
Monday, Nov. 11, at 7 p.m. at Mary Free Be Hospital, 235
Wealthy, S.E., in Grand Rapids.
The public is invited. Admission is free.
Dr. Patricia Kolodziej of River Valley
Orthopaedics of Grand Rapids will present "Persistent Ankle
Pain in Athletes." She will discuss various diagnostic
strategies and treatment options for physically active
people who have chronic ankle pain resulting from relatively
routine sports injuries.
Kolodziej is a graduate of Wayne State University
and completed a fellowship in foot and ankle surgery at Duke
University. She is a member of several learned societies,
including the American Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Society.
She has practiced orthopedics in Grand Rapids since 1999.
The Distinguished Lecture Series in Sports
Medicine is designed for health care professionals with an
interest in physically active patients, and is intended for
students, educators and clinicians alike. It is co-
sponsored by Holland Community Hospital, GRSportsCenter and
the college.
