Pianist Sheryl Iott Richardson to
Perform Friday, Feb. 14

HOLLAND -- Pianist Sheryl Iott Richardson will
perform in concert at Hope College on Friday, Feb. 14, at 8
p.m. in Wichers Auditorium of Nykerk Hall of Music.
The public is invited. Admission is free.
The recital program will include Beethoven's
"Sonata Op. 14 No. 2 (G Major)," Chopin's "Sonata in B
Minor," and Ravel's "Tombeau de Couperin."
Sheryl Iott Richardson is currently staff
accompanist at Hope College. She is pursuing a doctorate in
piano performance at Michigan State University, where she is
studying with Ralph Votapek and Deborah Moriarty.
She taught at the Conservatory of Central Illinois
in Champaign-Urbana from 1988 until 1997, and has since
taught keyboard skills at Calvin College and Hope College.
She is a state-certified teacher of piano through
the Michigan Music Teachers Association, and serves as
treasurer of the Holland Piano Teachers Forum. She
maintains a private studio in her home in Zeeland.
She has received a master's degree in piano
performance from the University of Illinois, where she
studied with Ian Hobson; and a bachelor's in piano
performance from Michigan State University, where she
studied with Albertine Votapek and Joseph Evans.
Nykerk Hall of Music is located in the middle of
the Hope campus, along the former 12th Street between
College and Columbia avenues.
