Hope College Wind Symphony to
Perform on Wednesday, Feb. 26

HOLLAND -- The Hope College Wind Symphony will
present a concert featuring percussionist Greg Secor as a
marimba soloist on Wednesday, Feb. 26, at 8 p.m. in Dimnent
Memorial Chapel.
The public is invited. Admission is free.
Secor will perform the "Marimba Concerto" by
composer David Maslanka.
Secor presently serves on the faculties of Hope
College and Grand Valley State University, where his duties
include studio teaching, percussion ensemble, and courses in
music literature. He is a member of the Kalamazoo Symphony
Orchestra, and frequently appears as a percussionist with
the Grand Rapids Symphony Orchestra. As a chamber musician
he performs with the Fontana Ensemble and the Chamber Music
Society of Saugatuck, and conducted a recent tour of the
Midwest with the Three Irish Tenors.
He earned a bachelor's degree in music performance
at Western Michigan University, and a master's degree at the
Cincinnati Conservatory of Music.
Also featured on the concert will be works by
Percy Grainger, and Paul Hindemith's "Symphony in B-flat."
Dimnent Memorial Chapel is located on College
Avenue at 12th Street.
