HOLLAND – Student dance work will be presented on Friday, April 23, at 7 p.m. in Van Andel Plaza, the oval outside the new science center.
The public is invited. Admission is free.
The work is "Ballo del Fiore (dance of the flower) and other Dances of Spring," reconstructed by junior Ginny Trover of Lafayette, Ohio, through an independent study. The work, a suite of authentic dances from the Italian Renaissance, was originally choreographed by Fabritio Caroso.
The performance will feature live music presented by the department of music and authentic costumes. The five dancers will include Trover; sophomore Michelle Graves of Flushing; freshman Cami Grimwood of Haubstadt, Ind.; junior Jessica Nelson of St. Joseph; and sophomore Krista Stanton of Lansing.
