Lecture in French Will Discuss the
Film “The Testament of Orpheus”

HOLLAND – A lecture presented in French at Hope College will examine the film “Le Testament d’Orphee” (“The Testament of Orpheus”).

The address, “Le Testament d’Orphee de Jean Cocteau,” will be presented by Professor Anne Caillaud of Grand Valley State University on Tuesday, Jan. 27, at 4 p.m. in the Herrick Room of the DeWitt Center.

The lecture will be preceded by two screenings of the film, which was directed by Jean Cocteau, a French artist, dramatist and film director of the 1930s and 1940s. The film will be shown on Wednesday, Jan. 21, at 6 p.m. in the Granberg Room of the Van Wylen Library, and on Thursday, Jan. 22, at 6 p.m. in room 201 of Graves Hall.

The public is invited. Admission is free.

The address is being presented through the French Cultural Studies Colloquium at Hope.

The DeWitt Center is located on Columbia Avenue at 12th Street. Graves Hall is located on College Avenue between 10th and 12th streets. The Van Wylen Library is located on College Avenue at 10th Street.
