DEAN OF STUDENTS NAMED TO VICE PRESIDENCY

HOLLAND -- In a move to better reflect his role at Hope
College, dean of students Richard Frost has had his title expanded
to include "vice president for student development."
"He retains the title 'dean of students,' which signifies
that fact that he works with, interacts with, mentors and guides
students, but the added title signifies his role as a senior
administrator of the college and of his responsibility as the
senior administrative officer in the student development area,"
said Dr. John H. Jacobson, president of Hope College.
Frost joined the Hope staff as dean of students in 1989.
student development services at Hope include housing and
residential life, student activities, multi-cultural life, disabled
student services, special programs, career services, counseling and
health services, and student judicial affairs.
Immediately prior to coming to Hope, he was associate
director of housing and residential services at the University of
California-Santa Barbara.  He holds a bachelor's degree from Luther
College, and a master's and doctorate from Michigan State
University.
