De Pree Gallery Features 20th Century
Prints from Permanent Collection

          HOLLAND -- The gallery of the De Pree Art Center
  at Hope College is featuring the exhibition "Pulling Prints:
  20th Century Prints from the Permanent Collection" from
  Friday, Feb. 25, through Friday, March 17.
          There is an opening reception on Friday, Feb. 25,
  from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
          The public is invited to both the opening and the
  exhibition.  Admission is free.
          With such diverse artists as Karel Appel, Salvador
  Dali, M.C. Escher, Robert Indiana, Joan Miro and Jose
  Guadalupe Posada represented, the exhibition features work
  ranging from surrealism to pop art to traditional Mexican
  "Dia de los Muertos" imagery.  "Pulling Prints" explores a
  vast array of printmaking methods and techniques, including
  etching, lithograph, woodcut and silkscreen.
          The exhibition was developed as a special project
  by Hope students Carrie Berlin, Kari Schneider and Joel
  VanderKamp, who are studio art and art history majors.
  Berlin is a senior from Eastpointe, Schneider is a senior
  from Birmingham and VanderKamp is a senior from Midland.
          The De Pree Art Center is located on Columbia
  Avenue at 12th Street.  The gallery's regular hours are
  Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Saturday
  and Sunday from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.
