Communication [1]

Develop transferable critical thinking, public speaking, writing and group-work skills that can be applied in a wide variety of career paths.
  • Collaborate with faculty members on scholarly research that often leads to publication.
  • Work and study in the 49,000-square-foot Martha Miller Center for Global Communication.
  • Explore creative possibilities in state-of-the-art facilities including a television studio, camera and digital editing equipment, the student radio station, 89.9 WTHS [2], offices of the student newspaper The Anchor [3], and speech labs.
  • Develop your skills and knowledge in a broad-based communication curriculum that includes public speaking, journalism, broadcast media, group communication, ethics, rhetoric, interpersonal communication, intercultural and global communication, family communication, and conflict resolution.
  • Take advantage of off-campus study programs in New York [4], Chicago [5], Philadelphia [6] and Washington, D.C [7]., or gain hands-on experience in a communication internship [8].
  • Learn how to be an ethical producer of information and media in a global society.
