Jud Laipply, whose "Evolution of Dance" video has been watched more than 34 million times on the popular "You Tube" Internet site, is bringing his show to the Knickerbocker Theatre at Hope College on Friday, Nov. 3, at 7:30 p.m.
Laipply was enjoying a successful career as a college entertainer when a video of his "Evolution of Dance" appeared on "You Tube." It is now the most-watched video of all time on the site. Since then Laipply has appeared on numerous television shows, including "Today," "Ellen," "CNN" and "Good Morning America." He has also been featured in "Rolling Stone" agazine and "USA Today."
He is now working on filming a version of his new "Evolution of Dance" being underwritten by the Internet search engine Google, which recently purchased "You Tube."
Laipply's speaking programs focus on inspirational humor, from which his "Evolution of Dance" emerged. His popular program, titled "Inspirational Comedy," combines his thoughts about life and change with humor.
Laipply's appearance at Hope College is being filmed for possible future use on Google's Web site.
Laipply graduated from Bluffton University with a Bachelor's degree and from Bowling Green State University with a Master's degree in higher education. He has been a professional speaker, dancer and comedian since 2000.
Tickets are just $5, and proceeds will support the Hope College Dance Marathon, which raises money for the DeVos Children's Hospital. Tickets are available at the ticket office in the main lobby of the DeVos Fieldhouse and can be reserved by calling (616) 395-7890. The ticket office is open weekdays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
