HSRT is Serving Up a Side of Sass This Summer with I Am Woman

Join us at Holland’s historic Park Theatre for I Am Woman, a cabaret that celebrates great female songwriters, soloists, and vocal groups of our time. With tunes ranging from the musical theatre repertoire to pop and rock classics, the song selection for this revue is sure to entertain. Spanning from the 1950s to the present day, the numbers reflect different points in women’s lives as well as their relationships with their friends and family. The entire show is performed by five lovely and talented women. Drinks will be available for purchase during the performance. Created by Fred Tessler and Brad Landers, I Am Woman runs at the Park Theatre (248 S River Ave) at 8:30 pm on July 2, 3, 8, 9, 18, 23, 31.

A Wonderful and Nutty Season Awaits the Children’s Production Troupe at Hope Summer Repertory Theatre

This summer the Hope Summer Repertory’s Children’s Performance Troupe starts off a little nutty by bringing the Peanuts® characters from the comic strip by Charles M. Schulz to life in the musical You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown, opening June 17th. This show is filled with laughter, fun, and unforgettable songs that the whole family will enjoy. In addition, this superb season includes The Amazing Adventures of Dr. Wonderful (And Her Dog!), opening July 8th. This detective-noir meets science-geek chic, super-cool astronomical musical theatre event is an adventure you will not forget. What a kookier way to begin HSRT’s summer of love than with The 39 Steps! Combine a Hitchcock masterpiece with a juicy spy novel, throw in a dash of Monty Python and you have The 39 Steps, a fast-paced whodunit for anyone who loves the magic of theatre! This 2-time Tony® and Drama Desk Award-winning treat is packed with non-stop laughs, over 150 zany characters (played by a ridiculously talented cast of four), and some good old-fashioned romance! Adapted by Patrick Barlow, from the novel by John Buchan and from the movie of Alfred Hitchcock, The 39 Steps runs for a limited engagement at the Knickbocker Theatre (86 East 8th Street) on June 14, 15, 19, 20, 26, 27, 29, and July 6 at 8:00 p.m.
