Summer Research Opportunities at Hope

Hope College hosts over one hundred students each summer to work on research projects with faculty. SHARP (Summer Hope Academic Research Program) is a clearinghouse of many research positions available in the sciences, with an application process generally beginning as early as January.

Students work on a research project with a faculty member, and present their work during a poster session at the end of the summer, Hope's Celebration of Undergraduate Research and Creative Performance in April, and possibly other off-campus conferences.

During the summer, students are encouraged to meet other students working with faculty from various departments across campus, and Hope hosts several events to encourage that, including a weekly ice cream social on Thursdays at 1:00 in the Schaap Science Center Atrium.
