Musical Arts Academy seminars are day-long workshops that focus on specific areas
Seminars take place throughout the school year, usually on weekends, and are typically geared towards 6th–12th grade students.
Current seminar offerings are listed below.
- DOUBLE REED DAY
Join other double reed players from the area for an exciting day of music and reed making! This is a great opportunity to connect with other oboe and bassoon players, discuss double reed specific topics and have a chance to be part of a masterclass performance that will help you prepare for solo and ensemble. - FLUTE DAY
Join other flute players from around the area for a fun and exciting day of music making! This is a great opportunity to connect with other flute players and have a chance to be part of a masterclass performance that will help you prepare for solo and ensemble. - HONORS BAND
Hope College is proud to host its ninth annual High School Honors Band! The group is open to all students in grades 9–12 who are nominated by their band director or private lesson teacher and usually consists of about 60 students. Students who participate will have the chance to work with the experienced faculty at Hope College as well as meet other talented students from across the state. The final concert is free and open to the public. Please see the Event page for more information.
- Registration fee: $25 (covers food and additional fees)
- Rehearsal dates: March 2 and 3, 2018 (Times TBA)
- Concert: March 3, 2018 7:30 p.m.
- Faculty clinician: Gabe Southard
