Andrew Schut
Assistant Professor of Accounting Instruction
Andy Schut’s background is in corporate accounting. He began his business career in West Michigan as a sales tax administrator with Alticor, the parent company of Amway. From 1994 through 2005 he served in positions including operations manager and controller with Hi-Tech Information Processing Products, Inc., a provider of technology solutions in West Michigan, and from 2005 through 2018 he was the controller for Studio C (the parent company of Celebration Cinema).
Andy began teaching accounting on an adjunct basis at several colleges in the Grand Rapids area in 2010. In 2014 he began teaching at Hope as an adjunct instructor, and in 2018 he joined the department full-time as an assistant professor.
He is a member of the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners, the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Institute of Management Accountants and the Institute of Internal Auditors.
He is currently studying for his CPA certification.
