Hope Summer Repertory Theatre's popular cabaret show heads to the movies this year with Hooray for Hollywood, opening July 5 at 8:30 p.m. at the Alpen Rose Restaurant in downtown Holland.
What was just an experiment five years ago has quickly grown into one of HSRT's most sought after shows, and this year Hooray for Hollywood revisits the songs that make the movies great, complete with Judy Garland and Shirley Temple medleys.
From "Sunset Boulevard" and "I've Got a Gal in Kalamazoo," to "Baby It's Cold Outside" and "There's No Business Like Show Business," this performance lets everyone relive great memories and music.
Fred Tessler returns for his fifth year as the director and musical director for the cabaret. Equity Guest Artist Christine Ciccone, who also plays Ariel in Footloose, leads a talented cast of singers and dancers that includes Giorgia Cifani, Ryan Filanda, Billy Gill, Quincy Marr, and Betsy Roth.
Tickets for the cabaret show are $21, which does not include dinner or beverages. But appetizers and beverages can be ordered during the show, and a great dinner in the main restaurant space can be enjoyed prior to the 8:30 p.m. show.
Hooray for Hollywood runs July 5, 8, 9, 11, 13, 15, 17, 25, 30, August 1, 5, and 7. While at the box office, be sure to reserve tickets for the great HSRT main stage shows, including the dancing excitement of Footloose, the classic farce, Charley's Aunt, the gothic horror story, The Woman In Black, and the delightful family musical, Honk. Susan Ericksen performs her one-woman comedy, Fully Committed in Snow Auditorium, and the Children's Performance Troupe is presenting Judith Viorst's Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day and the Grimm's brothers' tale, TheBremen Town Musicians.
