Hope College will present pianist Beth Quimby-Hopkins on Tuesday, Sept. 11, at 7:30 p.m. in Dimnent Memorial Chapel.
The public is invited. Admission is free.
A 1999 Hope College graduate, Quimby-Hopkins is currently the director of music at BuffaloAcademy of the Sacred Heart in Buffalo, N.Y., and a former member of the keyboard faculty at the Peabody Conservatory of Music in Baltimore, Md. She holds a Bachelor of Music degree in piano from Hope, and a Master of Music degree in piano from the Peabody Conservatory of Music.
Her program at Hope includes "Suite, Op. 14" by Bela Bartok, "Sonata in A minor, Op. post. 143" by Franz Schubert, "Etude in C major, Op. 23 No. 2" by Anton Rubenstein, and works by Franz Liszt and JoanTower.
In addition to her piano achievements, Quimby-Hopkins has sung professionally in a number of church choirs and select ensembles throughout the Northeast and Midwest. She is a member of Vocalis Chamber Choir, Western New York's premier a cappella vocal group.
