HOLLAND - An address hosted by the French Cultural Studies Colloquium will examine the way that Joan of Arc has been portrayed on film.

The presentation, which will be in French, will take place on Monday, Sept. 10, at 4 p.m. in the Maas Center conference room. The talk, titled "Représentations de Jeanne d'Arc au cinema," will be by Dr. Anne Caillaud, professor of French at Grand Valley State University.

The public is invited. Admission is free.

Dr. Caillaud will speak in French on the representations of Joan of Arc in the 40 some films on her life from the first in 1898 to those in the late 90s. She will consider which qualities and characteristics they stress and how they end up portraying her as a model for the modern woman of the new millennium.

The Maas Center is located on Columbia Avenue at 11th Street.
