The Hope Summer Repertory Theatre continues the season with the heartwarming musical I Do! I Do! opening on Friday, June 25 at 8 p.m. in the Knickerbocker Theatre.

This musical follows a couple through the ups and downs of marriage - from the bliss and uncertainty of the wedding night, through parenthood, mid-life crisis and growing old together in the early 20th Century.

Twenty years ago, HSRT veterans David Colacci and Susan Ericksen followed their spring wedding in Saugatuck with a summer performing this beloved musical. Now we join them in celebrating their anniversary this summer with a second honeymoon, as they revisit this jaunt through a married life from a new perspective. David and Susan have been seen many summers with the HSRT company their marriage and now bring their two beautiful children along for the ride.

David Colacci is returning for his twenty-fifth season with HSRT and nineteenth as Artistic Director. Recent productions David has directed include Room Service, Kiss Me, Kate, Godspell, and he is directing this season's Into the Woods. Among the roles he has played are Charlie in The Foreigner, Morgan in The Drawer Boy, Mark in Art, Queeg in The Canine Mutiny Court Martial, and Nicely in Guys and Dolls. He has also won numerous awards as a narrator of audio books, including an Audie nomination this year for Philip Pan's Out of Mao's Shadow.Directing.

This season marks Susan Ericksen's 21st anniversary with HSRT. She has performed in regional theatres throughout the country including The Cleveland Play House, The Repertory Theatre of St. Louis, Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park, Baltimore's Center Stage, Virginia Stage Company, and the North Carolina Shakespeare Festival. She began with HSRT as Maria, the novice nun in The Sound of Music and worked her way up to head nun in Doubt in 2008. As an audiobook narrator she has recorded well over two hundred novels by authors as varied as Nadine Gordimer, Charlotte Bronte, T. Jefferson Parker, Kristin Hannah, and J.D. Robb (Nora Roberts.), and has earned an Audie award for Origin in Death, as well as Earphone Awards.

Directing the production for a second time around is John Tammi, Founding Artistic Director of HSRT and a professor in the Hope Theatre Department. He has directed at least 89 productions for the two Hope theatre programs including the recent She Loves Me and The Foreigner for HSRT. During the past academic season he directed The Skin of Our Teeth and The Pinter Project.
