Both Hope College cross country teams have received All-Academic accolades from the United States Track and Field Cross Country Coaches Association of America.

The 2010 teams have been presented the association's All-Academic Team award. To receive award they needed to have competed and compiled a team score at an NCAA Regional Meet and maintained a minimum 3.10 team cumulative grade point average (GPA). The Flying Dutch achieved a 3.52 GPA while the Flying Dutchmen had a 3.25 GPA.

The Hope cross country teams are coached by Dr. Mark Northuis. The recognition is especially significant for the women's cross country program which has been named to the Academic Honor Roll every year since the award was initiated in 1990. The men's program has been recognized every year but one during that time.

"It is a true joy to work with young women and men that are high achievers both in the classroom and on the athletic field. It is even a greater joy to know that they are accomplishing what they came to Hope College to do and are graduating well prepared for life," said coach Northuis.
