Hope College senior basketball standout Will Bowser of Midland (HH Dow HS) has been named to the Academic/Athletic Honors team of the Basketball Coaches Association of Michigan.

Co-captain of this year's MIAA champion Flying Dutchmen team, Bowser was an all-conference and all-region honoree as he led Hope to a berth in the NCAA Division III championships.

He averaged 18.7 points ansd 5.1 rebounds a game en route to becoming the 34th player in Hope men's basketball history to surpass 1,000 career points (1,240).

An accounting major, Bowser has a 3.4 grade point average. He has served in several community-oriented initiatives, including Habitat for Humanity, a volunteer at Holland's City Mission and as a participant in an elementary school reading program.

Other members of the honor team are D.J. Baisen of Spring Arbor University, Reggie Hamilton of Oakland University, Zach Novak of the University of Michigan, and Joe Prepolec of Kalamazoo College.
