Rival Calvin, the defending Division III national champion, is the top-ranked team in the pre-season poll. A year ago Hope defeated Calvin in two of their three matches. Both qualified for the NCAA championships with Calvin going all the way.

The Flying Dutch begin their pre-season preparations on Monday, Aug. 22. The season begins with a Labor Day weekend tournament at Mt. Union College in Ohio. The home opener will be a league match against Alma on Tuesday, Sept. 6.
