The Hope College Concert Band will perform on Thursday, Dec. 6, at 7:30 p.m. in Dimnent Memorial Chapel.

The public is invited.  Admission is free.

The Concert Band consists of Hope students, alumni, and community members from the Holland and Zeeland area.  The band will perform a wide variety of music and will showcase several student conductors from the college’s music education program.

The concert program will feature “Courtly Airs and Dances,” by Paul Nelson; “Variations on a Korean Folk Song,” by John Barnes Chance; “Epinicion,” by John Paulson; “Dusk,” by Steven Bryant; “Folk Song Suite,” by Vaughan Williams; “Toccata,” by Frank Erickson; and “Prelude, Siciliano, and Rondo,” by Malcolm Arnold.

The student conductors will include sophomore Genevieve Janvrin of Woodridge, Ill.; sophomore Melissa Johnson of Livonia; sophomore Allie Kessel of Custer; sophomore Leah Marie Peterson of Holland; senior Jessica Wells of Indian Creek, Ill; junior Rachael Whitmore of Clarkston; and junior Jacquie Woudenberg of Holland.

Dimnent Memorial Chapel is located at 277 College Ave., on College Avenue at 12th Street.
