The Distinguished Lecture Series in Sports Medicine at Hope College will conclude its 2012-13 program year with the address “Truths/Myths of Concussion Management” by Dr. Jeffrey Kutcher of the University of Michigan on Monday, Feb. 25, at 7 p.m. in Graves Hall.
The public is invited. Admission is free.
Kutcher is an associate professor in the department of neurology and director of the Michigan NeuroSport Program at the University of Michigan. His research interests focus on the chronic neurologic conditions that result from sports injuries and also the management of neurologic diseases in the athlete. His particular areas of research include concussion, migraine headache and sleep disorders.
He completed his medical degree at Tulane University School of Medicine in 1998 and his residency in neurology at the University of Michigan Health System in 2002.
The Distinguished Lecture Series in Sports Medicine is designed for health care professionals with an interest in physically active patients, and is intended for students, educators and clinicians alike. It is co-sponsored by Shoreline Orthopaedics, Holland Hospital Rehabilitation Services, The Bone and Joint Center, and the college.
Graves Hall is located at 263 College Ave., on College Avenue between 10th and 12th streets.
