Brian Gibbs, a 1984 Hope graduate who has spent most of his time since graduation living and working in Germany, will present the address “Learning—and Loving—a Language for Life” on Monday, Sept. 30, at 4 p.m. in the Fried-Hemenway Auditorium of the Martha Miller Center for Global Communication.

The public is invited.  Admission is free.

Gibbs majored in German, international studies and business administration at Hope, and has lived in Germany for all but three years since graduating.  He worked for 20 years in operations management consulting, including 15 years as a partner and managing director, and he has traveled to some 50 countries.  He is currently conducting research and teaching at Regensburg University in Regensburg, Germany, and is associate dean at the European Business School in Wiesbaden, Germany.

Since 2009, he has been serving as the international representative on the Hope College Alumni Board of Directors and has met up with Hope students, faculty and alumni frequently over the years in Austria, Germany and England, and more recently in Scotland, France and The Netherlands.

He lives in Bad Homburg, Germany (near Frankfurt) with his Austrian wife, Barbara, and their three children.
