Hope College sophomore Josh Hagene is the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Men’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week for games played through Monday, Sept. 1. 

The forward from Caledonia, Michigan (East Kentwood HS), scored three goals last weekend in leading the No. 21-ranked Flying Dutchmen to a split of two games at the Cal Bergsma Memorial Invitational.

Hagene scored two goals, including the eventual game-winner, in a 3-2 win over North Central, Ill., and tallied Hope’s only goal in a 2-1 overtime loss to eighth-ranked Ohio Wesleyan.

Hagene is being honored as MIAA Player of the Week for the first time in his career.

Hope returns to action this weekend with two matches in the Chicago-area.

The Flying Dutchmen play at Elmhurst (Illinois) on Friday, Sept. 5, at 7 p.m. Central time and 15th-ranked Wheaton (Illinois) College on Saturday, Sept. 6, at 7 p.m. Central.
